Friday 23rd July marked a milestone in the growth of local jeweller John Greed. Their new retail outlet on the High Street was opened at 9 a.m. to  eager customers. All day, staff were on hand to provide information about the jewellery brands and future plans for the shop.

The shop, which has undergone a major refurbishment, was a hive of activity throughout the day. At 3pm, Mr. Greed gave a formal speech to the assembled audience, giving thanks for the hard work and commitment shown by all of those who worked on the project especially his family.

Mr. Greed recounted his experiences in Lincoln and provided anecdotes surrounding the building of his successful Jewellery business.

"I came to Lincoln with £100 in my back pocket, today is a long term dream come true."

The shop was formally launched by Mr. Greed’s children, happily announcing in unison "We declare this shop now open!" Along with the opening of the flagship store comes a new retail manager, Nigel Dunn, who commented:

"Jewellery is all about drama, fun and excitement and we want to share our passion with the people of Lincoln. Everything about this store is different and the specification and attention to detail is far greater than anything else I have worked with in almost 30 years."

The existing Steep Hill shop, will undergo complete refurbishment and be re-branded a boutique store that will pay homage to its historic surroundings and cater for the more individualistic tastes of the area.

The jewellery website has experienced year on year growth, now achieving on average 8,000 hits per day and turning John Greed jewellery into a multi-million pound E-commerce business. The increased, online, brand awareness programme, through search engine and social media has propelled John Greed Jewellery to over 3,000 fans on Facebook in a matter of months and continues to grow every day.

In a similar fashion to that popular television series, Grand Designs, our brand new shop John Greed Jewellery, located at 314-315 High Street, Lincoln, has been fast under construction. Upon entering you will find yourself awash with high-tech colour changing LED lighting, bespoke dark wood cabinets and a finish that is coming together to rival that of any grand design or luxury department store.

So, where are we in the build you may ask? Well, since our last update the store has been inundated with builders, painters, buyers, graphic designers, visual merchandisers and about every other Tom, Dick or Harry who has a clue about jewellery or great design.

The stock has been ordered, the floor is down, the lighting is wired and the cabinets are in. But what about the products you might ask? Well, we have made sure we have selected all the best brands, so don't worry your favourite Pandora Jewellery is still there, 30 sq.m. of it to be precise, all sitting prettily along other fantastic brands such as Thomas Sabo, Nomination and Michael Kors.

Upstairs our dedicated Diamond ring bar has been installed and is ready for our new specialised team member to start advising and creating that unforgettable moment of choosing an engagement or wedding ring.

John Greed who has been working on site everyday said:

"The new shop has a powerful seductive nightclub feel that offers individuality and personality beyond the homogenized offerings from the major chains. It's a completely new concept; a jewellery department store with a different excitement at every turn."

So, not only do we have the best brands and a beautiful environment, we have also recruited the best staff. The driving force of the team will be our new retail manager, Nigel Dunn, with 28 years experience in the jewellery trade he has travelled 4,500 miles across the Atlantic Ocean from the Grand Cayman Islands to join our team. With a host of qualifications and expertise that is far too long to list here, he aims to offer world class customer service, exciting promotions and leading brands, heavily focused on cutting edge fashion trends in jewellery design.

Finally, it looks set to be a busy end to the week at the new shop.  The sign is being installed and visual merchandisers will be coming in from all over the country to design their dedicated areas of retail space.
